About My Street Status

Clear answers, with the official source alongside them

Independent UK information service · Launched September 2026

What this service does

My Street Status brings fragmented local-authority information into straightforward postcode-based checkers. It currently covers dropped kerbs, advisory disabled parking bays and options for charging an electric vehicle where off-street parking may not be available.

Independent—not a council website

My Street Status is not part of a council, GOV.UK or any highway authority. It cannot grant permission or guarantee that an application will succeed. Results explain published rules and direct visitors to the relevant official authority for the decision.

How information is checked

Rules, fees and application routes are taken from linked council and government sources and reviewed before they are added. The coverage and sources page shows what is automated, where each authority’s official information can be checked and when the records were last verified.

If an authority does not publish a dependable answer, the checker says so. It does not turn a missing fee into £0 or guess that permission will be granted.

How the service may be funded

The checkers are free to use. My Street Status may later earn money from clearly labelled advertising or introductions to relevant local contractors. Advertising, sponsorship or a commercial relationship will not alter an eligibility result. Paid placements will be identified as such.

Privacy

The checker does not ask for a name or full postal address and does not currently store postcode checks or answers in its own database. Full details are available in the privacy notice.
